Pre and Post-Wedding Photoshoots in Phuket

Pre-wedding photoshoots or post-wedding portrait shoots are beautiful ways to slow things down and actually get those picture-perfect images you’ve always wanted, without the timing pressure of the wedding day.

A pre-wedding shoot is also a great way to feel at ease and get comfortable in front of the camera, as well as get more personally acquainted with your wedding photographer, so planning a short 1 or 2-hour session a day or two before the wedding is a nice idea.

A post-wedding shoot, on the other hand, is your chance to unwind, get into your wedding outfits just one more time, and spend some tete-a-tete time with each another while exploring the beauty of the area around your wedding venue (especially if you’re having a destination wedding!).

We have already shared our thoughts and tips on engagement and portrait sessions in Koh Samui, and today we would like to speak about Phuket, and in particular, the beautiful area in the southern part of Thailand. Home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, the cliffs in the bay can be seen in many movies and easily captures the imagination of people.

Some of the most beautiful shots are often taken from water, and for adventurous, open-minded, and free-spirited couples, we are always happy to create an outstanding setting for a portrait session.

Take Li and Paul, for example. Together with destination photographer Tyler Rye and the designers and planners of The Wedding Bliss Thailand, they set out to explore the exquisite Cheow Lan Lake, also known as the Rajjaprabha Dam Reservoir in Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani Province while in a traditional Thai long-tail boat. The mystic and dramatic backdrop of the cliffs and the small boat create the most beautiful contrast. To build up a romantic mood, we decorated the boat with dried grass, wildflowers and garden roses in natural, muted color tones.

For a more luxurious and refined setting, why not charter a private luxury yacht to a secluded island? Jennifer and Neil set off, crossing Phang Nga bay to arrive at Como Beach Club, located on a private island. Como was exclusively open that night only to host the couple’s private dinner on the beach.

After their grand destination wedding in Phuket, the couple wanted to spend the day simply enjoying each other’s company. The Wedding Bliss Thailand, together with Xenia Motif Creative Studio, and Blush Wedding Photography, created a setting for the couple to enjoy their first day of married life. Inspired by the colours of the ocean and the untouched nature around the ever so popular Phuket, the shoot focused on sensuous moments shared just between the two of them. Champagne on the yacht, candle-lit dinner by the beach, portraits in unconventional black outfits, — it is a creative and somewhat rebellious expression, defying what a wedding or a post-wedding photoshoot should look like.

Whether you decide to go for a pre or post-wedding photoshoot, remember that the most important thing is that you both enjoy every moment of it. Choose the looks you feel most comfortable and ‘yourselves’ in, choose the location that captures your heart and imagination, the photographer whose style you adore, and have a trusted planner and designer by your side to make all your dreams come true!
