For a creative and active couple like Karis and Francois, a destination wedding was the most appealing way to celebrate their union. Both coming from the fashion industry background, (Francois is the designer, and Karis is a marketer for luxury jewelry brand in Hong Kong); our bride and groom paid close attention to design and wanted something unconventional, nature-inspired — a setting that will blend in perfectly with the overall environment, yet will be a statement of their creative, fun, and outgoing personality.
Their love of minimalism and clean lines defined a choice of venue — a modern private villa on Natai beach close to Phuket. Natural materials of the villa like stone, wood, enhanced with the lightness of huge glass windows and plenty of soft, diffused light inspired us to create this airy styling.
We played around with a few of couple’s favorite colors to create an ultimate combination of white, gem-blue and natural green, that worked perfectly in organic and modern surroundings. We decided to forgo classic wedding florals and focused on quirky shapes of delphiniums and sea holly that provided for a pop of color on a canvas of earthy dusty miller and clouds of baby’s breath.
The main priority was to keep the day as laid-back and relaxed as possible, so once the ceremony finishes, the guests were invited to kick their shoes off and dip their toes in the sand, enjoying delicious sundowners. Bride and groom were no exception either and enjoyed this time having a few funny and romantic shots taken by talented Darin from darinimages.
As the sun sets over the horizon, it was time to enjoy delicious food, and go back to the villa. Funky first dance has later started the party going, as it was the moment that the bride and the groom were both anticipating so eagerly, they rocked the dancefloor to Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson.
