Last season the wedding world was fascinated with rustic chic weddings. Embracing the natural surroundings and rustic looking design by applying a simple philosophy, “Less is more.”
Thailand has a strong tropical character of its own, and for quite some time it has been hard to implement such a rustic concept. Which is why we were so excited when Neal and Samantha approached us with their idea of creating a theme around the “enchanted forest.” Designed by interior architect Samantha Soo, the space contributed to bringing the concept to life with its green, natural surroundings. Vibrant natural colors and detailed craftsmanship were introduced to create a unique and memorable guests experience, with particular features such as the ring pillow and other decorations all handcrafted by Samantha.
The celebrations started off with an intimate exchange of vows that took place along a rustic sundeck with a stunning view overlooking the ocean. The two naturally grown palm trees help create a picturesque setting that framed the aisle. The altar was crafted as a sculptural piece made out of local meadow flowers and dried grass that sits on the deck.
Samantha looked stunning in her elegant fitted lace dress customized especially for this unforgettable day. Her bouquet and Groomsmen corsage both rustic and natural in appearance were consistent with the overall concept by applying a combination of natural greenery and cream-colored flowers.
As the night progressed, the guests were greeted along the grass lawn where the dinner reception took place. An oversized, custom structure served as a frame to the long tables catering for 130 guests. Wrapped in a beautiful selection of local greenery and vines with romantic lighting to blur the existence of the structure. Designed elements on the dining table include a combination of various decorations such as the light grey tablecloth, greenery centerpieces, and French wooden chairs. All these elements portrayed a feminine, yet dreamy image just how the couple has pictured. To keep guests entertained before the married couple made their grand entrance into the reception, Neal and Samantha had prepared customized paper fortune teller games, which were placed on the dining table.
It was a fantastic night, filled with fireworks, touching speeches, happy tears, and laughter, endless food, decadent desserts but most importantly, it was filled with loved ones, family, and friends!
Personalization always makes a wedding a true success. A wedding is a once in a lifetime celebration, and the couple wanted to make theirs an affair to remember.
