More editorial gorgeousness is coming your way! We’ve been eagerly waiting to share this styled shoot with you for many months now, and today the time is right! In the middle of July, we are positive that the burst of bright, rich colours will be a great inspiration for all the brides out there, planning on summer or early autumn weddings.
With the talented photographer and jet-setter, Megan Wynn, we created a story inspired by the exotics of Thailand and passionate love. A burst of colors, tropical beaches, exotic long-tail boats along the shore — just some of the things you can find on advertisement prospects from tour companies. Being Thai residents and wedding planners in Phuket and Koh Samui, we often forget and disregard local culture, while it actually offers a whole world of opportunities to play with when it comes to doing photo shoots and wedding styling.
When all wedding trends dictate pastel tones and safe color combinations like rose quartz and serenity, it’s hard to see the beauty in bright, almost contrasting tones, like red and orange again. We got thrilled, when Megan approached us with this idea, and got down to work right away.
We started off with the preparation at the private villa in Ayara Kamala Resort on Phuket’s West Coast. It was then followed by the ceremony on their private beach hidden between cliffs and jungle forest. The simplicity of the setup was embellished with lush organic compositions, full of wood, greens, and tropical flowers.
Portraits on the beach were a logical continuation, followed by a more wild idea of a decorated long-tail boat. It was Megan’s dream to do these shots, and we got this spark from her immediately! After only some short time planning, we found fishermen who were surprisingly excited about the idea of turning their transportation means into the romantic scene backdrop. With the gorgeous couple as our models, this part of the shoot definitely became our favourite, with its outstanding sensuality and whimsical look. We were also graced with a soft, warm light that day, that helped to capture just the right picture.
And what is a wedding without a stylishly arranged dinner? Our lovebirds enjoyed their celebration in a private villa overlooking the ocean. Handwritten calligraphy, lavish centerpiece, a combination of ceramic and silk with golden accents — all that made a complete picture of luxury tropical setting.
