From our very first meeting with Victoria and Aston, we knew their wedding is going to be a lot of fun, unique and unforgettable. Both bride and groom are coming from Hong Kong, a hustling and bustling, always glowing city, which in many ways has probably shaped their adventurous, fun, and playful personalities. They first met back in 2009 through their mutual friends, and their story started from there. Sharing a great number of great memories together from parties to traveling, they got engaged in April 2014, when Aston surprised Victoria with an epic proposal party on the rooftop in Hong Kong downtown, where he gathered all their good friends to celebrate with them.
Since both the bride and groom love partying and fun, non-standard events, they had their minds set on a destination wedding in Phuket. This was their first destination for the trip as a couple and remained a very special place in their hearts.
Besides, Phuket has a direct flight connection from Hong Kong, which was critical in allowing their guests to travel comfortably.
With the help of The Wedding Bliss Thailand as their wedding planners, Victoria and Aston’s wedding turned out to be a dream coming true. Coming from Hong Kong and not wanting a formal atmosphere of city weddings, the couple was looking for a magical celebration filled with many activities and impressive decor, at the same time having a very laid-back Thailand vibe. Their whimsical wedding took place in 2 neighbouring private villas, 15 minutes drive from touristy Phuket, and could truly be called a luxury.
Not a single detail was missed — from invitations to guest favors, each of them is of particular importance either for the bride or the groom, and altogether making their portrait as a couple.
As big foodies, the bride and the groom paid close attention to the quality and selection of food and drinks served at the wedding. Everything from colorful welcome drinks (various home-made lemonades from fresh fruits) to the abundant sweet corner with French gourmet desserts and petit fours was carefully selected and together made a harmonious treat for the guests. The dinner menu was designed by the chef especially for Victoria and Aston, and was presented by the chef himself before the dinner.
A lush floral decor made the setting very special. The ceremony took place on the stage set-up above the pool, overlooking the azure waters of the Andaman sea. With flower arrangement, all the way along the aisle, and large vases filled with beautiful arrangements made the vows that Victoria and Aston shared with each other even more meaningful and beautiful.
The ceremony was followed by beach cocktails with custom-made drinks and photo booth as entertainment. While ladies were enjoying their sparkling and fruity cocktails, gentlemen had a very serious business just for themselves; a whiskey and cigar lounge corner, which was extremely popular throughout the night.
Dinner reception had a dreamy setting under the hanging floral constructions and thousands of atmospheric lights. Our team worked on a new structure and design especially for this wedding, which created a whimsical garden feel. While the sun was playing and streaming its warm golden light through the arrangements on dining tables, as well as passing through the lavish blossoms and vines on the ceiling, we couldn’t stop admiring this fairy-tale setting. Flowers and chandeliers on the ceiling also looked extraordinary in the twilight, with their reflection in the pool.
The main colour scheme was white, soft pink and a touch of lavender and deep purple. The lush tropical greens of Phuket, as well as some hanging greenery chains added up a more organic look to the decoration.
Since the rainy season already set in Thailand, the weather was merciful. The sky was clear all day and we’re even blessed with a gorgeous moon halo; a rare astronomical sighting which created a wonderful effect in the night sky. It even appeared when Victoria and Aston headed to the beach for their first dance as a married couple. For such an important occasion, our team decided to add visually impressive pyrotechnic effects and light to the scene. So, their first dance was just like in the movies!
The epic after party in the pool was an absolute success, also with the slow-motion video booth next to it, and even the wedding planners’ team couldn’t resist but try it out!
