Alex and Andy

Alex and Andy are very fun, loving and easy-going couple, and their wedding couldn’t be anything ordinary. The most important thing for the bride was to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed, including herself and Andy; so that everyone could share their happy moments on the happiest day of their lives.

Being based in Hong Kong, Alex and Andy chose to celebrate exchange their vows through a wedding in Phuket for a number of reasons: they spent many holidays here together and were familiar with the island, it was also a beautiful place for all guests to enjoy their holidays on top of attending the wedding, and it has direct access from Hong Kong.

With regards to the wedding decoration, our Phuket wedding planners decided to stick to clean minimalism, with the main color scheme of white, blue, and a dash of gold.  White orchids were used as main florals, which created a fresh, crisp look that didn’t overweigh the amazing view from the villa. Flower chains hanging above the ceremony area were subtle but visible enough. With the stage over the pool and simple two stands’ altar, the ceremony views were gorgeously unobstructed.

Alex looked particularly stunning in her dress with floral lace motifs on the bodice, which found a perfect match in white orchids’ and roses’ bouquet. The dress was designed and made by the bride’s best friend, and with no doubt made more than perfect wedding present that will be cherished in memory forever. Deep blue hues of the groom’s and the groomsmen’s outfits made a great contrast to the overall white decoration tone and made them outstanding.

Both bride and groom come from unique backgrounds, and they wanted to incorporate elements from both their families’ respective countries into the wedding. Alex’s mother is from the Philippines, so they had Filipino fans made in their wedding colors that were handed to the guests to help keep them fresh. Andy’s mother is from Cyprus, so all guests received small bottles of olive oil from their olive tree farm back home. Additionally, the bride’s father is German, and the groom’s father is English, so English sparkling wine was served during the reception and German schnapps for the after-party.

The wedding was filled with many special moments: from the ceremony that incorporated Cypriot tradition of exchanging flower crowns, to very touching speeches, bride’s mom dancing performance with a group of friends. Couple’s first dance became their favorite moment of the day: they didn’t practice it, but it was so emotional and had an excellent grand finale of fireworks shooting at their background as they sway to “I won’t give up” by Jason Mraz.
